The AP11 Refresher Course is designed for existing or previously appointed Authorising Persons who require a formal update of their knowledge, skills, and competence relating to the safe management of high voltage electrical systems operating up to 11kV.
This intensive refresher programme reinforces the responsibilities of the Authorising Person role, ensuring delegates remain current with industry best practice, relevant legislation, high voltage safety rules, and organisational procedures. The course reviews key operational principles, safe systems of work, switching procedures, isolation techniques, and permit-to-work requirements associated with HV networks.
Through a combination of classroom-based learning, practical exercises, discussions, and assessment activities, candidates will refresh their understanding of HV equipment, network operations, risk management, and the critical decision-making processes involved in authorising high voltage work. The programme provides an opportunity to review existing practices, address knowledge gaps, and demonstrate ongoing competence in the role of Authorising Person.
